On March 12, 2020, an international online conference was held on the topic: “MODERN TRENDS OF HOTEL AND RESTAURANT BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT”, organized by the Tourism Department of Economics Faculty at the L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University with the participation of foreign partners.
On March 12, 2020 in the educational and administrative building of L.N. Gumilyov ENU the International online conference on the topic: “MODERN TRENDS OF HOTEL AND RESTAURANT DEVELOPMENT BUSINESS” was held, organized by the Tourism Department of the Economics Faculty.
Such foreign partners as the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia, Moscow, the Russian Federation showed their interest in participating; FSBEI HE Omsk State Technical University, Omsk, Russian Federation, as well as Kazakhstani partner universities: Pavlodar State University named after S. Toraigyrov, Pavlodar, Kazakhstan; "Turan" University, Almaty, Kazakhstan. In addition, active participation was taken by representatives of the hotel and restaurant business of Rixos President Astana Hotel.
The main objective of the event is the information exchange between scientists and practitioners from different countries on issues regarding the current state and development trends of the hotel and restaurant business, as well as the development of appropriate recommendations for its further development.
During the international online conference, special attention was paid to the factors and conditions for the further development of the hotel and restaurant business in Kazakhstan and abroad, the significance and positive effect of its development both economically and socially were noted. During the event, issues related to the use of modern digital (smart) technologies in the hotel and restaurant business both in the Republic of Kazakhstan and on a global scale were discussed, the main trends in the development of this industry, as well as promising directions for its further development, were identified.
It should be noted that the Eurasian National University serves as a kind of platform for dialogue between representatives of business and education system. All participants expressed their interest in holding such conferences for an open discussion of the current state, problems and prospects for the development of the hotel and restaurant business.
