Round table discussion on the topic: “Modern Digitalization Trends in Tourism”

On November 29, 2019 in the educational and administrative building of L.N. Gumilyov ENU a round table discussion on the topic: "Modern digitalization trends in tourism" was held by "Tourism" Department.

The key tourism organizations in Kazakhstan, such as NC “Kazakh Tourism” JSC, “Astana Convention Bureau” LLP, as well as a company directly involved in digitalization in the Republic of Kazakhstan “Kcell” JSC, showed their interest in participating.

The main objective of the event was to exchange views on the current state and problems of tourism sector digitalization in the Republic of Kazakhstan, its role in attracting tourist flow to the country, as well as discussing promising areas of tourism development by applying modern methods of market research, determining target audience and promotion of tourist services.

During the round table, special attention was paid to the factors and conditions for the further development of tourism in Kazakhstan, the significance and positive effect of its development both economically and socially were noted. During the meeting, issues related to the application and processing of big data in the tourism of the Republic of Kazakhstan, planned activities and areas for partnership with JSC NC “Kazakh Tourism” were discussed, in addition, problems of digitalization of tourism in general were noted.

It should be noted that the Eurasian National University serves as a kind of platform for dialogue between representatives of government agencies, business and the education system. All participants expressed their interest in holding such meetings for an open discussion of the current state, problems and prospects of tourism digitalization.
